Biography
After qualifying as an undergraduate from Cambridge University, Sam Singh undertook a full training program in Orthopaedic surgery in London, where he gained fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons. To learn the latest techniques in the very specialist field of Foot and Ankle surgery, he completed a fellowship in Foot and Ankle surgery at Harvard University under the auspices of Dr. Michael Wilson MD and Dr. Christopher Chiodo MD.
Sam Singh was appointed to his position as an NHS Consultant to run the regional service for complex Foot and Ankle problems at Guy’s and St Thomas’ in 2005. Through his training of the next generation of Foot and Ankle Consultants and by attending and contributing to national and international conferences, Sam Singh’s patients benefit from the very latest thinking and recognised techniques.
Sam Singh is a fully qualified Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon. The skills and experience required for treating serious injuries to all the body’s bones and joints enhances his ability to deal with difficult non-injury cases. As a consultant he has performed around 10,000 foot and ankle operations.
He has served on the Regional Surgical Training Committee for Orthopaedics and Trauma, and through the fellowship program that he runs at Guys Hospital, fifteen other specialist Foot and Ankle Surgeons, many of whom work here in London and the south east, have trained directly under him.
Remaining actively involved in training and research, Sam Singh regularly publishes articles in both the academic and popular media. He has published more than 50 scientific articles and has presented a similar number of scientific papers at national or international conferences.
